“How do you get paid?”
We have a team of Ministry Partners who regularly give and are completely responsible for funding our ministry. This allows us to minister in a full-time capacity on campus.
“How does Cru use my donations?”
All contributions become the property of Cru on the basis of being given as charitable gifts. When gifts are submitted with a designation for a particular staff member or ministry, they become available to those accounts.
10% of all donations are used for the organization’s administrative needs in Suva, Fiji.
Gifts designated for our work provide us with our salaries, health care benefits, ministry expenses, pension, and savings. We raise the funding that we need in order to live a modest, God-honoring lifestyle. Cru has no central funding to pay its employees, which has allowed it to grow as large as it is, with over 26,000 staff worldwide.
Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ International) is a charter member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, an accreditation agency founded in 1979 dedicated to helping Christian ministries earn the public’s trust. Cru abides by the ECFA standards of responsible stewardship in its management of donations.
“Is there a maximum amount you can raise?”
Yes. This level is based on our family status, geographic adjustment, and tenure. Cru sets a salary cap based on these factors, which we cannot go over.
“What happens if you don’t have enough support?”
Our paychecks get smaller. This is why we encourage you to give each month or annually. In order for our full attention to be focused on reaching every student and faculty, we continually trust God to be fully funded. We simply could not do this work without our Ministry Partners!
